speaking of grumpiness.
visit a grumpy and hate-filled lady of poetry (if link won't work: http://www.bostoncomment.com/index.html ) and see what the vitroil does for ya. i double-dare ya. and would you ever guess it from the photo? grumpiness revealed in full in the Essays, also in the questions phrased to our (somewhat) underwhleming panel of textperts in the post-avant section. i just get trouble when i ask for more carnival, but please, i'm dying out here, more carnival.

Sean sez:
I've been reading the avant, post avant, and beyond
section of essays. Beside her seemingly constant
negative view on current poetry and rare
gerneralization, I find it all very intriguing, a
sound voice of reason.
remeber to floss.

man I was going to put this on jim's blog. what gives? stealing my thunder?
What do you mean. We still heard you. You said something about stealing your thunder. "It was a dark and stormy night..."
Wow. She's taken her prejudices and turned them into a business.
Whether she enjoys reading the L= Pos or not, you'd think she's have some respect for their integrity. I love her insistence that poetry should "change us [...] make us feel something new" and spends the rest of her website nickle utterly refusing to feel or think anything new.
She criticises poets she doesn't like not just by saying "I don't like it" but by complaining that they don't have "any real knowledge or understanding of poetry". So poems she doesn't like or get anything from -aren't poems-. This is totally a move that Power makes.
Her stance as a consumer of poetry couldn't be more clear: "give us poems that deliver the emotional and aesthetic and intellectual goods."
I need a shower.
And don't disrespect Joe Amato. He's great.
Joe Amato - you stand defended!
Did you get this depressed oh god i should get out of here feeling but morbidly stay on her site longer than you need to? Its apparent from the very titles that this is a closed mind and apparent also the manner of closing. But I got sucked in, and dug around, I dont know if out of righteous disbelief, or looking for a miracle (some shift or fold/wrinkle in the endless flat expanse of her rage logic)or because i actually enjoyed witnessing her debacle.
i think reading her work is a little like watching bad porn or some third rate indie film. its a complicated navigating, and a shower could rescue me fromit if suggested.
i mean i didn't get the "exclusive"
