its such an unnoticed luxury to even be reading this

and how many more times over so to be writing it?

yet by no means guarranteed in Egypt.

I understand the germ of the last judgement, that sense that God'll get us in the end. But why this faith in ends? Not to mention "In the beginnings...". What about right now? Repression and the irrepressible.

Wake up, motherfuckers, do.

I see you are getting to my blog.

The catch with god ruling the day of judgement lies what a person defines as God and the day of judgement. i posed this question to a sufi mystic from mexico named Amina Teslima and asked, why all this carrot on the end of a stick stuff, what about today? And she was like: You think time is linear? You think judgment is coming at the end of a rope? It's already here.

And then she went on to divulge the many different forms the day of judgment comes in.

Makes sense when God is considered the beginning and the end, a fine conundrum that leaves the human with only one response: surrender: islam.

Of course many people dont go this route. But they'r ein good company I suppose.

But just to add. it really depends on what we think God is. If it's some-thing waiting to get us, than f- it. But if "everywhere you look there is the face of God" and if god is "reality itself" the uncontainable totality of is-ness, then to immerse/experience the presence of God-ness even blows "right now" out of the water, cause right not is still referential.

Interesting? or more religious mumbo jumbo?

If God is reality itself (according to the Qur'an which is what I'm using as a basis) than therefore it is very possible for us to be destroying things. Another Qur'an basis reads like: "I am what you expect to find." And if most people expect a wrath, then a wrath they will find.

I'm not sure which word view I'm espousing.

Love this discussion. But tangent is coming...

Kyle, you have, in the "cast of millions," called me Rebird. That solves everything for me. Like Reverb. Like bird again rebirth (phoenix). And here I am, seemingly not rebirding (first bird, next, antipating last), but rebird all the same. Ah, the god-reality of accident might really just accent(uate).

***

b.a.rak, I want to apologize for the day I was walking downtown Boulder and you and Patrick were on bikes behind me, calling out, "Hey Redbird! Red-B!" And something in me stiffened because that was supposed to be my pen-name (yet surely not Red-B)--a purely paper affair. Hearing it called out embarrassed me ("was I being made fun of?" --what unkind suspicion in me! what insecurity misdirected! such mistrust). So I walked on, pretending not to hear. My stupid and cruel rejection of your obviously affectionate naming. I regret that greatly. I hope you can forgive me. Now you can call me any number of well-intended names, and I will be humbled and grateful (I hope! human that I am). For now I hope to embody Rebird! Re re re re re re re...!

I see in a small way what you mean about:

"If God is reality itself (according to the Qur'an which is what I'm using as a basis) than therefore it is very possible for us to be destroying things."

And:

'"I am what you expect to find."'

Thank you.

Bob - this sense of time and God is fascinating, rich, and complete mumbo jumbo.

IS that what you wnated to here? No, kidding aside, I love hearing you get into this. Love it, very rewarding, esp. given how estranged I am from most Christian senses of the word, and you sound a little like an old mystic, except you are contemporary, and i think getting some of this energy into the writing community is water for the (freaking) thirsty and often delusional.'

Ellen - how should I call you, my refering to bird? do tell. i'll change it now to redbird, lemme know though.

i also have no memory of where this day of judgement thought even came from. i think Bob must have planted it.

loves,

I'm glad it's sitting well with you Kyle, or at least sittin gin a way that doesn't dismiss it. That's great to hear, cause it is something I'm very interested in and if people wer ejust like: whatever, then I'd have no one to bounce off of. So good on that.

And Redbird. I don;t remember that so well, although I can surely imagine it happening on my end. Not you personally getting rigid on Patrick and I, but anyone getting rigid on Patrick and I at that time.I'm sure you were responding more towards our overbearing assumptions to call people in general whatever we felt like rather than feeling embarrassed. Though maybe both. Either way, sorry for my role as well. Or is it roll? Seriously I can;t remember.

Dear Kyle, I'm seriously grateful for "rebird." No need to change it to redbird. But it's up to you. Names need not be static for me. Though I suppose I might recoil if my name mutated into "Rebridtney Spears." But that is an unlikely permutation, right? heehee

Dear Bob, how kind you are to me! No need for your apology. I guess I'll let it be water under the bridge (remember the pigeons that loved to roost in the tunnel--or bridge?--over part of Boulder Creek?). Our rolls can roll themselves down the mountain while we stand atop it, looking over the big picture. Thank you.
